MEMORIAL MORENA 2010

“MEMORIAL MORENA” REGULATION

1) The Sportiva Sturla is organizing the “Morena Memorial”, an international meeting of juvenile swimming for males born in the years 1992-1998 and females born in the years 1994-1999 and is offering the “Enrico Morena Cup” to be entrusted for one year to the italian or foreign club reaching the first place in overall the scheduled events. Another prize, the “Region of Liguria Cup”, is definitively awarded to the italian or foreign national team reaching the first places in overall the scheduled events.

2) The meeting will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 2nd / 3th / 4th July  2010 at the open-air pool of the “Complesso Polisportivo Sciorba” of Genova (lenght 50 m. - 8 lanes - fresh water) under the sponsorship of the Region of Liguria, the Municipality of Genoa and the Province of Genoa.

3) Athletes eligible to participate in the “Morena Memorial” are those who are regular members of a club affiliated with a National Swimming Federation, as well as members of italian or foreign national team affiliated to F.I.N.A., provided they have equaled or surpassed in official meets the time limits indicated in the enclosed table.

4) The following events are planned for the meeting:

Athletes born in succeeding years will not be admitted even if they have the required time limits. The athletes will be allowed to participate in no more than 5 events. The foreign or italian National Team will be allowed to enter their swimmers for no more than 40 events in all. The foreign or italian Club will be allowed to enter their swimmers for no more than 80 events in all (max 2 team).

5) A heat will take place for each category. The first eight of each year, irrespectively of the required time limit, will pass onto the final, except for males born in 1992-1993 and for females born in 1994-1995, who will compete by category in the finals too. The 400 m. freestyle race, with no finals foreseen, will take place at series with the scores indicated at rule number 9) below.

6) In the heats, series and finals only 1 start will be allowed.

7) Entry forms indicating the best times of the season, must be sent to the following address:

 8) There will be individual prizes for each race’s finalists.

 9) For each final or series the following scores will be awarded, valid for both the “Enrico Morena Cup” and the “Region of Liguria Cup”: 9 points to the first place, 7 points to the second place, 6 points to the third place, and so on up to the 8th place to whom 1 point will be awarded.

10) In case of scoring tie, the “Enrico Morena Cup” or  the “Region of Liguria Cup”will be awarded to the team with the highest number of placed athletes.

11) A gold medal offered by the Morena family will be awarded to the athletes achieving the highest total score in overall the events reserved to his/her age group. In case of scoring tie, the medal will be awarded to the youngest athlete.

12) The Sportiva Sturla reserves the right to increase the endowment of the prizes at stake and to modify the anticipated prizes.

13) The athletes will have at their disposal the 50 meters pool connected to the competition field  for warm-up swims at all times and for the whole lenght of the events.

14) The program and the beginning time of the events may be changed depending on the number of athletes registered in each event, maintaining anyway the date of the meeting.

15) F.I.N.A.Technical Regulation is to be applied to all matters not directly envisaged by this Regulation.

16) The Sportiva Sturla disclaims all responsibility for damages or accidents which could occur to participants, third parties or things, before, during and after the meeting attributable to participants or third parties.
